COMMONWEALTH GAMES: Ghana bow out in Judo

Ghana’s Sandoh Abdulai Iddrisu could not excel despite defeating Alfred Bangura from Sierra Leon in the prelims in the Judo competition.

Iddrisu went on to lose to England’s Ashley MCKenzie in the round of 16 to exit.

Meanwhile Bismark Yartey and Zoe Agudoo all lost to Walsh pair Gregg Varey and Daniel Rabbit respectively to end Ghana’s hopes of amassing any possible medal in Judo.

Team Ghana’s biggest hope in the competition lies on boxing after two boxers Joseph Commey and Walid Omar all advanced to the quarterfinals.

Jesse Lartey who won Ghana’s only medal in 2018 will be fighting later today as he looks forward to giving yet another shot at a medal, possibly better that what he did 4 years ago.
