Ghana’s William Amponsah selected to run in UK after breaking National record at the Commonwealth Games

Ghanaian Athlete William Amponsah has been selected to compete in the Great North run.

The University of Education student was a member of Ghana’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and competed in the Men’s 10,000 event.

Amponsah set a new record of 13:56:14 despite finishing 13th in his race.

His impressive performance has seen him earn a slot in the half marathon which comes off in September this year.

Organizers of the competition have already extended invitation to Amponsah through the Ghana Athletics Association.
