Kudus as false 9 is an option for us – Black Stars coach Otto Addo

Head coach of the Black Stars Otto Addo says playing Kudus Mohammed as a false 9 is an option he may explore at some point in his tenure.

Kudus has been used as a false 9 recently at Ajax where he’s blossom and many feel he could replicate same form at the national team.

The 22 year old is part of the Black Stars squad for their upcoming friendly against Brazil on Friday.

Kudus has scored six goals in his last five matches for Ajax in all competitions.

Speaking ahead of the game, Otto Addo said he has options and Kudus is one of them in that position.

“We have all kinds of ideas for so many players besides Kudus. [False nine] could be an option but there are so many other options for him,” coach Addo said in pre-match press conference.

“Surely we won’t talk about tactical things before our matches or before the World Cup but anything can happen.”

He added, “For me, it’s not a big surprise because we know him very well. I know him very well and I am just happy that he is now a part of the starting 11 at Ajax.”

Ghana will take on Brazil on Friday, September 23 in Le Harve before travelling to Spain to face Nicaragua on Tuesday, September 27 in Lorca.
