Ghanaian football is set for another major preseason attraction as the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) brings together four of the country’s leading clubs for the GHALCA Top 4 Tournament 2026, scheduled to take place from August 26 to 30, 2026 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

The tournament will feature Medeama SC, Bibiani GoldStars, Dreams FC and FC Samartex 1996, creating a competitive meeting of clubs with significant recent experience at the top level of Ghanaian football. With the 2026/27 domestic season approaching, the competition provides the four sides with an opportunity to assess their squads, test new signings and fine tune their preparations under competitive conditions.

The inclusion of Medeama, GoldStars, Dreams FC and Samartex also gives the tournament an interesting competitive dimension. Each club arrives with its own ambitions and expectations, while the short format means there will be little room for complacency. Beyond the trophy, the matches should offer coaches an important opportunity to evaluate tactical systems and give players valuable minutes before the new league campaign begins.

The tournament will also give supporters an opportunity to watch some of Ghana’s leading domestic clubs in one venue. All matches are scheduled to be broadcast live on GHOne TV and Agoo TV, with the coverage powered by EIB Sports, allowing fans across the country to follow the competition even if they cannot make the trip to Legon.

With four established clubs, a concentrated five day schedule and the prestige associated with the GHALCA brand, the Top 4 Tournament promises to provide an early glimpse of the teams that could shape the 2026/27 football season. From August 26 to 30, the University of Ghana Sports Stadium will become the centre of attention as Medeama, GoldStars, Dreams FC and Samartex battle for early season honours.
