Ghana Football Heading in Wrong Direction – Alhaji Gruzah

Veteran football administrator and King Faisal bankroller Alhaji Karim Gruzah has criticised the conduct of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Congress, expressing frustration over what he described as the failure to give football administrators the opportunity to speak during the gathering.

Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, the former Black Stars management committee member questioned the direction of Ghana football under the leadership of GFA President Kurt Okraku, insisting that the association must do more to ensure that administrators have a voice in matters affecting the game.

According to Gruzah, football stakeholders who have invested years in the development of the sport deserve the opportunity to express their views and contribute to discussions at Congress.

“We are not small boys; we have followed football for a long time. The FA must do things right. Ghana Football is heading in the wrong direction”. He said

His comments come after the 32nd Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association, held on Thursday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.

The Congress brought together members of the football fraternity to deliberate on key issues concerning the administration and development of the sport ahead of the upcoming football season.

However, Gruzah’s concerns highlight broader questions about stakeholder participation and the extent to which football administrators and other members of the GFA Congress are able to freely express their views during such meetings.

The veteran administrator believes the GFA must take steps to improve its approach and ensure that Congress serves as an effective platform for open discussions and meaningful contributions from all stakeholders.

With Ghana football facing several challenges both on and off the pitch, Gruzah’s remarks are likely to reignite debate over the leadership and direction of the GFA under Kurt Okraku.
