Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has disclosed that the winner of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season will take home GH¢3 million at the end of the campaign.
Okraku, who also serves as the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), made the revelation on Thursday during the 32nd Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association.
According to the GFA President, the association has increased its financial commitment to clubs participating in the Ghana Premier League, with each club set to receive GH¢1 million for the 2026/27 season.
He further revealed that the league champions will receive an additional GH¢3 million as prize money for winning the competition.
“This year, for the season beginning 2026/27, each of the GPL clubs will receive GH¢1 million. The winner of the GPL will take home GH¢3 million,” Kurt Okraku said.
The announcement is expected to provide a significant financial boost to Ghana’s top-flight clubs as they prepare for the new Premier League season, while also increasing the incentive for clubs to compete for the league title.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is expected to attract renewed attention as clubs battle for domestic supremacy and the opportunity to secure the lucrative championship prize.
