Transfer News: Hearts of Oak Complete Signing of Former Heart of Lions and Legon Cities Goalkeeper

21 0

Anane joins the Phobians after previous spells with Heart of Lions and Legon Cities FC, bringing domestic experience and an international chapter in Albania to the Accra based side. The goalkeeper also featured for FK Apolonia Fier in the Albanian league, adding overseas experience to his profile.

His arrival comes as Hearts of Oak prepare for life after Solomon Agbasi, with the club looking to strengthen the position and ensure greater competition between the posts. Anane is expected to provide an immediate option as the Phobians reorganise their goalkeeping department.

However, the club is not expected to stop with Anane. Hearts are understood to be working on the arrival of another goalkeeper, meaning competition for the starting position could become particularly intense once the second addition is completed.

For Hearts, the recruitment strategy points to a deliberate attempt to build depth in an area where consistency will be crucial throughout the 2026/27 campaign. Anane’s familiarity with Ghanaian football, combined with his experience abroad, gives the club another experienced option as preparations continue.

The Phobians are therefore making significant changes between the posts, with Anane now through the door and another goalkeeper potentially set to follow.
