FC Ashanti Gold 04 made a winning start to their home campaign in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, defeating Vision FC 3–1 at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
The hosts made a bright start and took the lead in the seventh minute when David Gyamfi calmly finished a well-weighted through ball to put Ashanti Gold 04 ahead.
Vision FC responded strongly and drew level in the 30th minute through Mohammed Sheriff, who expertly converted a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box.
Ashanti Gold 04, however, regained control before the break. Edmond Amakye produced an impressive run before delivering a well-timed cross for Gyamfi to score his second goal of the afternoon.

he hosts extended their advantage shortly before half-time when Gyamfi completed his hat-trick after beating two defenders with a fine piece of individual skill before producing a composed finish.
Vision FC pushed forward in search of a way back into the contest after the restart, but Ashanti Gold 04 remained organised and managed the game effectively to secure all three points.
The victory gives Ashanti Gold 04 a strong start on home soil, with Gyamfi’s hat-trick providing the finishing touch to an impressive team performance.
