David Gyamfi stole the spotlight as FC Ashantigold produced the standout performance of Matchday Two in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League, defeating Vision FC 3–1 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi. The forward scored a sensational first-half hat-trick to hand Ashantigold their first-ever Ghana Premier League victory and become the first player to score three goals in a single match this season.
Gyamfi opened the scoring early before Vision FC restored parity through Sherif Mohammed Iddrisu. The Ashantigold forward, however, responded in emphatic fashion, adding two more goals before the interval to complete his treble and give the Miners a commanding 3–1 lead at half-time. Ashantigold held firm after the break to secure a historic three points.
Sunday’s fixtures produced another round of significant results. Asante Kotoko defeated Heart of Lions 2–1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, while Berekum Chelsea recorded an impressive 3–1 home victory over Dreams FC. Hearts of Oak continued their strong start by beating Gold Stars 2–1 at Bibiani, while Young Apostles secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Basake Holy Stars.
Elsewhere, Swedru All Blacks began Sunday’s action with a 1–0 win over Debibi United. The scheduled meeting between Medeama SC and Port City was postponed, leaving one fixture outstanding from the matchday.
With the second round now largely completed, the early campaign is already producing compelling storylines, from Ashantigold’s historic first Premier League win to Gyamfi’s emergence as the league’s first hat-trick hero.
