Ghana’s Black Stars suffered a 4-2 defeat to The Gambia in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Ghana took a 2-0 lead through Ernest Nuamah’s 27th-minute penalty and Felix Afena-Gyan’s free-kick six minutes later.
However, The Gambia fought back to level the score before half-time before adding two more goals in the second half to secure victory.
The result leaves Ghana without a point from their opening two Group C matches, following an earlier 2-0 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire.
The Black Stars, coached by Carlos Queiroz, now face mounting pressure as they seek to secure qualification for the 2027 AFCON, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda
