FC Ashantigold have terminated the contracts of head coach and technical director Abdul Karim Kabutey Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere and goalkeeper trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect.
The decision, announced in an official statement dated Tuesday, October 27, 2026, follows a consultative meeting held by the club’s Interim Management Committee on Monday, October 26.
According to the statement, the three members of the technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect, although the club did not disclose specific reasons for the decision.
Zito, who combined the roles of head coach and technical director, was the most prominent member of the technical team affected by the shake-up. He departs alongside Okyere, who served as assistant coach, and Dabo, the club’s goalkeeper trainer.
In the wake of the decision, the club has appointed a caretaker coach to oversee the team’s affairs until a substantive head coach and technical director are appointed.
The club expressed gratitude to the departing officials for their contributions and service, wishing them well in their future endeavours.
Coach Karim Zito has overseen FC Ashantigold in 8 games so far in the 2026/2027 winning 3, drew 2 and lost 3 and sit in the 10th position of the Ghana Premier League this season.
