Ghanaian youngster David Oduro is reportedly set to leave Barcelona on a permanent transfer before the close of the current transfer window.

The 20-year-old left-back, who has been part of Barça Atlètic is attracting strong interest from England, with Aston Villa understood to be in advanced negotiations to secure his services.

According to sources close to Oduro, Aston Villa are exploring a deal that would see him move to the Premier League club permanently before being sent out on loan to FC Annecy in France’s Ligue 2.

The proposed loan move would give the Ghanaian defender an opportunity to gain regular first-team experience and continue his development in a competitive European league.

However, Aston Villa are not the only club monitoring the highly rated youngster.

Liga Portugal 2 side Tondela are also reportedly in the race for Oduro’s signature, meaning the Ghanaian could have options to consider before the transfer deadline.

Despite his potential departure, Barcelona are expected to protect their long-term interest in the player. The Catalan giants will reportedly retain a significant percentage of any future sale, allowing them to benefit financially should Oduro continue his development and secure a lucrative transfer in the future.

Oduro’s potential move represents another important step in the career of a player who has been regarded as one of Ghana’s promising young defenders in Europe.

With Aston Villa now in advanced talks and Tondela also interested, the coming days could determine where the Ghanaian youngster continues his development as the transfer deadline approaches.
