Fred Pappoe, Leads The Search Committee for New Black Stars Coach.

The Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have constituted a five-member search committee and have been tasked with identifying and recommending the next head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.

 

The joint initiative follows crucial consultations in Accra between leadership from the Sports Ministry and the GFA following the recent departure of former head coach Carlos Queiroz.

 

The newly formed committee brings together a blend of football administration experience, legal expertise, high-performance strategy, and veteran national team leadership and they are as follows;

 

Fred Pappoe (Chairman) – Former Vice-President of the GFA and veteran football administrator.

Anthony Baffoe – Former Ghana international and General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).

Stephen Appiah – former Black Stars captain.

Faisal Chibsah – High-Performance Specialist.

Agbesi Dzakpasu, Esq. – Legal Practitioner and seasoned football administrator.

The committee has been given a mandate to assess prospective managerial candidates and evaluate their technical fit, tactical philosophies, and alignment with the long-term vision for the senior national team.

 

The committee is operating on an expedited schedule and is required to submit its official findings and recommendation report by Friday,9 October 2026.
