Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President George Afriyie has called for comprehensive reforms within the football governing body, stressing the need for changes that can improve the administration and development of football in Ghana.

Afriyie believes the GFA requires meaningful institutional reforms to address some of the challenges confronting Ghana football. According to him, such reforms should focus on strengthening the structures and systems of the Association to create a more effective and accountable football administration.

The former GFA Vice President further stressed the importance of putting appropriate mechanisms in place to improve the management of the game. He suggested that reforms should go beyond individual interests and instead focus on building systems that can support the sustainable development of football, from the grassroots level through to the national teams.

Afriyie’s comments form part of the ongoing conversation about the future direction and administration of Ghana football. He has consistently maintained that the interests of the sport should remain central to discussions about leadership and governance, with proper reforms needed to help strengthen the GFA and improve the overall fortunes of Ghana football.
